GLSE Kicks Off!
GL Sports Entertainment has been expanding rapidly. We plan to keep you informed of all the excitement this area has to offer. Be sure to mark your calendar for upcoming events.
The USTA Grand Slam Futures 2008, a GLSE event, is moving to Pasco County. The future stars of tennis from more than 53 countries will showcase their talents January 8th -13th at 2 locations in Pasco County: Saddlebrook Resort will host the men's event, while Saint Leo University will welcome the women. The kick off of the One-on-One Doubles Tennis Program "The New Game of Tennis" created by Harvard Tennis Coach Ed Krass will be marketed by GL Sports. "This will deliver a unique and exciting form of tennis. GLSE will also serve up a Junior Team Tennis League for students at middle and high school levels. This new program offers friendly competition while developing skills, sportsmanship, teamwork and possibly a spot in the national championship. Program start date is September 28th, 2007.
America's Best Quarterback Contest, continues to build on the success of the 2006 Celebrity vs. Amateur Quarterback challenge. Celebrities included Shaun King, Scott Mitchell, Shane Stafford and Jeff Carlson. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer QB Jeff Carlson edged out Shaun King to win the celebrity portion of the tournament. The Tampa Bay Sharks have been quietly circling the basketball scene for 2 years but they're ready to come to the surface...watch out!!! Head coach Fernando Rojas has taken the team on an exhibition tour to Argentina and Mexico this summer. Youth Enrichment through Sports, known as Y.E.S., consists of a series of programs designed for children and teens to positively enrich their lives through sports and fitness. We are working closely with Boys and Girls organizations to develop program's that benefit youth in our communities.
